Medical insurance

Employees have a choice of two medical plans with a large network of doctors and hospitals to choose from. All plans allow members to seek care without referrals, giving you the flexibility to coordinate your own care.

Healthcare services

  • A professional healthcare service is available to assist, either by phone or email, with unbiased doctor recommendations, prescription assistance, bill reconciliation, hospital cost and quality information, along with other general healthcare inquiries
  • Telemedicine service makes it possible for employees and their dependents (from 6 years of age or older) to see a licensed medical professional for most primary care needs—without having to leave the workplace or home if the home computer has a web cam and the medical equipment necessary for the medical visit

Compensation: Exceptional pay for exceptional performance

Base salary

Your base salary, or regular rate of pay, is reviewed on an annual basis. Base pay reflects your position’s responsibilities, competencies, skills, qualifications, and performance over time.

Incentive compensation

Cyberonics pays an annual cash bonus based on a number of elements, including, but not limited to, achievement of individual and corporate objectives. For the sales team, an alternative sales incentive plan is in place.

401(k) retirement savings plan

We offer a 401(k) retirement savings plan with the following benefits:

  • Employees may contribute 1% to 100% of pre-tax compensation to the 401(k) plan (up to IRS limits)
  • 50% match of employee contributions, up to the first 6% of employee contribution
  • Multiple and varied investment options
  • Employees may elect to roll over funds at any time

Simplify life

Cyberonics is committed to finding ways to make life simpler for you. In addition to a flexible work week, we offer a variety of convenient services, including an onsite ATM and healthy mini-market, as well as the ability to purchase stamps and ship personal items.

Employee assistance program

Our employee assistance program helps employees resolve personal problems that may adversely impact their work performance, conduct, health, or well-being.

Adoption assistance and fertility treatment

After 1 year of employment, financial assistance is available for full-time employees who are building families through adoption or fertility treatment.

Parental leave

Eligible full-time employees may receive 40 hours of parental leave as a planned absence in connection with the birth or adoption of a child.

Personal protection

Peace of mind is important to everyone. That’s why Cyberonics offers life insurance and comprehensive disability benefits at no cost to employees.

Basic life and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance

Cyberonics provides basic life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance at no cost, up to one and a half times the employee’s annual salary, but not to exceed $300,000.

Supplemental life insurance

Employees may purchase optional supplemental life insurance in increments of $25,000, up to $300,000. Life insurance is also available for employees’ dependents.

Short-term disability

Cyberonics offers short-term disability insurance at no cost. In the event of a non-job-related disability, employees receive 60% of weekly earnings, up to $2,000 per week.

Long-term disability

Cyberonics offers long-term disability insurance at no cost to employees as protection in cases of disabilities lasting more than 13 weeks.The employee receives 60% of monthly earnings to a maximum of $15,000 per month.

Optional supplemental income protection

Employees have the option of electing supplemental income protection.

Education assistance

Cyberonics employees are driven by a strong desire for learning and self-improvement, and we enthusiastically support their ambitions. Our education assistance program helps cover some of the expenses that you may incur when continuing your development through education.

Paid time off

In your first year of employment at Cyberonics, you will be granted 20 days of paid time off. Regular full-time employees are awarded paid time off, based on years of service.


 Cyberonics recognizes 8 designated holidays per year.

Epilepsy Foundation Head Over Heels Fun Run/Walk

Cyberonics is very passionate about the needs of the epilepsy community. Each summer is highlighted with the Epilepsy Foundation’s Head Over Heels Fun Run/Walk. Cyberonics employees sponsor numerous fundraisers and are typically the largest group of contributors to the Foundation. Why? Because it is part of our mission.

Workplace Giving Program

In support of the Epilepsy Foundation, Cyberonics is proud to offer the Workplace Giving Program. This allows all employees to support the foundation in the simplest, most convenient way—through payroll deduction or a one-time donation. All donations are tax-deductible.

BJ Wilder VNS Therapy Access Program (VTAP)

The BJ Wilder VTAP was developed to improve the lives of those touched by epilepsy, but who do not have the financial resources to obtain VNS Therapy. The program provides funding to donate a limited number of VNS Therapy systems on a first-come, first-serve basis.

    I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Cyberonics (Houston, TX) in October 2015.


    There was a 30 minute phone pre screen. Then an onsite interview with various managers in the Quality department. The onsite portion was a half day and included a writing portion at the end. None of the experience was too difficult just questions about problem solving experiences and personality. At the end of the interview I was asked about compensation expectations, which I was not expecting. They are very open about what they expect from the position to see if you are a match. Definitely come with questions, all interviewers wanted to have conversations rather than just ask a list of questions.
