Our employees are central to everything we do at DFW. DFW Airport values its employees and is proud to provide a comprehensive benefits program we call, Total Rewards. We empower our employees to achieve optimal health, make meaningful connections, and become lifelong learners. The Airport continually evaluates the Total Rewards benefits program to help us attract and retain the best people.
Life happens, and when it does, we offer employees a range of options for medical plans. Dental and vision coverage is also available for employees and their families.
DFW Airport has an onsite LiveWell Center and LiveWell Health Clinic. The LiveWell Center provides access to a full weight room, cardio machines, group fitness classes, personal trainers and more at no cost for all employees. Employees can also take advantage of our onsite LiveWell Health Clinic as another resource to seek medical care such as immunizations, preventative screenings and more – no copay required.
To encourage healthy behavior, the Airport offers a Wellness Incentive Program where employees can earn up to three days pay each year.
DFW Airport is committed to providing competitive pay and medical, dental and vision benefits in order to attract and retain the workforce needed to be an employer of choice.
Employees are eligible for longevity pay after completing one full year of service as a regular full-time employee by end of fiscal year.
The Board is committed to a pay-for-performance philosophy in order to reward each employee for his or her contribution to the Airport. Merit increases or lump sum awards will be based on individual performance.
Basic term life insurance and AD&D coverage is provided and is fully paid for by DFW Airport as an automatic benefit to all employees.
We offer two pre-tax savings plans – 401(a) and 457(b) – to help employees set aside funds for retirement.
DFW matches the employee’s contribution up to 7% and also makes available retirement planning sessions and financial planning assistance.
We recognize that an employee’s overall well-being includes being able to take time off. We encourage a healthy work-life balance.
At DFW Airport, we offer eligible employees paid time off including holidays, vacation days, sick time and also short-term or long-term disability coverage.

I have been working at DFW International Airport full-time (More than 3 years)
I have really enjoyed my time at DFW Airport since I joined a few years ago. There is a good work and life balance, and it seems like a very stable work environment. I worked in a large Hospital system before joining the Airport, and we have better medical coverage and at much lower cost here. The benefits are amazing. Top priorities for management are health and wellness, as well as diversity and inclusion. The Airport offers incentives to employees to improve health and wellness outcomes. The workforce is very diverse. I personally feel included and respected here, and like a valued member of this organization.
Being a public entity, there is a lot red tape. One must learn to navigate through a well-defined hierarchy of approvals. Some departments still operate in silos. Management is aware of these challenges and I believe they are taking the steps to improve in these areas.
Advice to Management
Continue the great work!
It was a panal with the STARR format. It was all management and I heard back pretty quickly. I found it challenging answering in this format so I would recommend practicing since no one really talks in this manner.
