DNSFilter was born out of necessity. DNSFilter’s CEO and co-founder, Ken Carnesi, was fed up with existing content filtering solutions on the market. They were either overpriced, outdated or ineffective. Instead of settling for a subpar solution, he set out to create one that ...

Technical Account Manager

Being a woman in tech, I only recently started advocating for myself at work about advancement opportunities. Because of this I wanted to ask this question to my male counterparts. When you have 1:1's with your direct reports and talk about career growth / aspirations what is your managers’ response typically? I’d like to gauge how my experience (negative) differs from others. For instance are you met with blockades, enthusiasm, dread, etc?

I applied online. I interviewed at DNSFilter (United States)

    Interview

I found the process to be a refreshingly great experience and the best I've had in over a decade. I found the entire interview process to be similar to the product: straightforward, transparent, fast and accurate.

From the initial phone call, I could tell this was going to be a different (better) experience. We walked through the job description, expectations and the process. Follow-ups with more information and scheduling were extremely responsive. The recruiter was incredible throughout and really set DNSFilter apart from the other companies I was talking with.

I met with the hiring manager, then a panel and a final interview with an executive. Just as what was described to me from the first call. Everyone was well prepared, asked good questions, transparent and extremely respectful. I had a lot of questions and I was impressed with the willingness of everyone to spend the extra time with me to answer all my questions.

If you are looking for a long interview process that's long, murky and filled with fluff you probably want to look elsewhere. If you want to meet some smart people and work on a great security product check out DNSFilter.
    Interview

Questions were around the product function in terms of prioritization, metrics, interaction with other teams, challenges and the product lifecycle. I always think it's great when the interview team works in some current challenges and we have good dialogue.
