DRB Systems – Why Work For Us?

History

DRB Systems & Unitec are business solutions companies that provide technology and marketing support to enhance the consumer’s experience and the operational efficiency of a car wash. Unlike equipment-only point-of-sale companies, we provide the business ”know-how” to transform most car washes into profitable, thriving businesses.

DRB Systems was founded in 1984 and is located outside of Akron, OH. DRB Systems proudly employs 200 experienced and tenured knowledge leaders. Anchored in the organization’s 33 year history of providing innovative, custom tunnel and POS solutions to the car wash industry, we continue to focus on how we can help create opportunities for car wash operators to grow and thrive in today’s ever-evolving industry.

Unitec was founded in 1983 by Jeff Ousborne an electrical engineer and Erik Eden a car wash distributor who joined forces to develop the first discrete code entry system for the car wash market Unitec has consistently produced the most advanced hardware and software available. As a customer-driven company, Unitec’s products and features were developed as a direct response to customer requests. Unitec products combine state-of-the-art technology, user-friendly operation - for customers and staff - and dependable, rugged construction.

Employee Spotlight

Angela Stanley

Company Role:  Project Coordinator
Years with the company:  6 months

Tell us a little bit about yourself:  I spent 21 years in the transportation and logistics industry working on many projects with customers that outsourced their shipping to a third-party logistics company.  I managed a branch office for 10 years and am a University of Mount Union graduate.  My husband and I have three children that attend Green Schools; a sophomore, 8th grader and 5th grader (Jackson, Davis and Jane.)  We spend a lot of time at high school baseball games, ski club and dance.

How did you first learn about the company?  Kim Cantrell, through mutual family friends.

What is your favorite work moment/memory?  Several in just six months - going to Joe's Car Wash with Dan Castle.  Training sessions with Josh Nagel, Ben Jones and Richard Mann.  Mostly the positive environment and good feeling you get from working within the entire Implementation team.  The team is knowledgeable, patient and willing to help and answer questions anytime.

What is the best thing that has happened to you this week?  Getting our kids back to school this week after three snow days.

What is the best praise or advice you have ever received?  Trust the process and have fun.

You've inherited a time machine.  What year would you travel to first?  For sure 2028.  Our kids will be out of school and starting their new jobs and families.  It would be fun to see what they will be doing.

If you could live in a sitcom which one would it be?  Parks and Rec

Are you a listener or a talker?  Listener

Which would you prefer - three wishes over five years or one wish right now?  Three over five years

What is your favorite place to eat?  Sylvester's in North CantonCompany Role:  Project Coordinator

    Application

I applied through other source. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at DRB Systems in September 2017.

    Interview

Contacted about open position by company. Invited in by hiring manager for in-person interview following a phone screen. When I arrived for the interview, I was informed by the hiring manager that they wouldn't have time to speak with me that day, but that they would follow-up with me to reschedule. Since I was already on-site, I was asked to speak with a few available colleagues; everyone was generally nice and welcoming.

The hiring manager never followed-up; when I followed-up, I was told they were focusing on other applicants.
