    Marketing Interview

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at DataFox (San Francisco, CA) in February 2017.

    Interview

The process began with a phone interview with a member of the team, where he asked questions about my background and explained the interview process if I were to move forward. Next steps would be an informal lunch at the office to get to know everyone better, and the final stage would be a 3 hour panel interview with various members of the company. The final stage would go through life events and decisions made beyond work.
I made it to the lunch stage and thought things went fine. I met the hiring manager, who really didn't talk to me very long. They sent me a generic auto-rejection email and by the next day their sales team had contacted my entire marketing team trying to get a demo scheduled. They also reached out to my fellow team member for a job on the marketing team. Interview was fine but I found the way everything was handled after the interview a bit distasteful.
