Innovation Day is a DataXu tradition. When it's Innovation Day, employees stop the day-to-day work to partner with colleagues around the globe on projects to better our company. Team structures are suspended for that day, and employees are welcomed and encouraged to work with anyone they want on any project that they feel will benefit the company. Innovation Day is completely devoted to breaking up a normal day, being creative, and working with people who don’t normally don’t get to collaborate.
This idea for Innovation Day was inspired by research into the world’s most innovative companies. The key, unifying theme between the most innovative companies is that each of them find a way for employees to do self-driven creative work, even when this work has less than a 100% chance of success. This gives each employee the chance to take a risk and go down a path that he or she thinks is a good idea, without worrying about missing deadlines or objectives. It might fail, but that's OK! You can’t innovate without taking a risk.
No meetings will interrupt your concentration, no phone calls, no scrum, no backlog. It's just our teams creatively working together for 24 hours. Innovation Day is the chance to research a new business or marketing idea, try out a new code library, come up with a crazy new product, invent a new machine learning trick, or fix some annoying bug that is never a top priority. Innovation is not just on the core product, it's all aspects of the business, from ad operations to people strategy to finance to product. Everyone can be innovative and over 40% of our Innovation Day ideas have been implemented into our business. We’re proud to support innovation and give our employees room to grow, learn and create something astonishing!

Taking too long to get to an exit. Teams are tired and Ad Tech is not going up in value. Find a buyer.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at DataXu (Boston, MA).
Contacted by one of the recruiter who works in London for the hiring in Boston office. Though she lives in different country and in different timezone, she will make her best effort and will ensure she answers all our questions. This is the best part of the interview process. She always try her best to give positive interview experience for the candidate.
So the first step will be skype call by this recruiter. Then you ll have one telephonic interview with one of the teams in Boston office, followed by onsite interview.
Telephonic interview was like a formal conversation regarding my previous projects at my current employer.
In onsite, I was asked some basic Java and SQL questions . Trust me, they are relatively very easy questions. I was not able to answer them just because of my tiredness on the day of my onsite interview.
Unfortunately, on the day of my interview I had to work from 1 AM to 5AM in the morning to resolve some of the on call issues. Then I drove to boston for 5 hours from my place for attending the interview. I didn't find time for having lunch and hence went straight away for the interview (without having lunch and breakfast). This severely impacted my capability during my interview.
It's purely my fault for not able to clear the interview. DataXU did a fantastic job in the interview process. I regret so much for not able to join the DataXU family, since I am very much impressed with their culture.
