    I applied through an employee referral I interviewed at Datadog (United Kingdom) in May 2021


    I applied for two roles: one that I was perfectly qualified for and another that I wasn't.

    I was told that I was rejected for the perfect role with no explanation. Had a screen scheduled for the other one, which was implied to be by phone. So, I just assumed they'd ring me.

    Got an email a few minutes after it was due to start with a Zoom link. Late and what if I wasn't at a computer? Not a good start.

    The screen itself was fine and the interviewer was polite and easy to talk to.

    I inquired about the rejection and I was told that they had no information about it.

    I was told there'd be four more rounds: a live coding test, a take-home challenge, a systems design discussion and a final round with the hiring manager.

    I decided not to proceed. Not the worst ever but I just sort of lost interest by the end of the first round.
