Daxko was established in 1998 in Birmingham, AL. In addition to our HQ in Birmingham, we also have an office in Houston, TX. Daxko provides software and services that help member-based organizations increase efficiency, engagement, and community impact.
The #DaxkoNation encompasses the member-based organizations we serve, as well as 200 team members over 6 different products and services. We are deeply motivated to make a difference in the lives of our customers and those they serve. Our workplace, with a culture of collaboration, action, and entrepreneurship, has a well-deserved reputation of providing “career defining” opportunities for team members willing to pursue them.
We define integrity as doing the right thing when nobody is looking. At Daxko we treat our customers, partners, and fellow team members with fairness, honesty, and respect. Without integrity, our best efforts will fail, no matter how good our software and services are.
Sense of ownership is the deep resolve to do what needs to get done. We stay focused on our goals and have a high degree of accountability in the commitments we make.
Effective teams beat individuals every time. Our success is not dependent on the heroics of a few individuals. It is dependent on team members working together towards a common goal, accomplishing things they couldn’t do on their own.
Fun is that extra, intangible dimension that helps us enjoy our jobs and makes us enjoyable to work with.It helps us keep our jobs in perspective, egos in check, and allows us to be better, creative problem solvers for our clients, every day.
We are recognized for providing innovative benefits that celebrate our company culture, promotes healthy living, encourages continuous learning, and helps team members achieve their personal and professional goals.

Considering a move to a new city can be daunting, particularly if you have a spouse or family to consider as well. To help ease the decision-making process, we’ve put together a few resources we hope will be helpful in researching options and imagining what life could be like in the Magic City or in Houston.
Birmingham, Alabama is experiencing a renaissance from craft brews, to James Beard award-winning chefs, Birmingham has a lot to offer with a great cost of living. Birmingham tops Forbes magazine’s 2015 list of most affordable cities. We’ve sourced a few blog posts that may be helpful in getting a feel for the kinds of events and special places you can find in and around Birmingham:
Houston, Texas is closely linked with the Space Center Houston, the coastal visitor center at NASA’s astronaut training and flight control complex, but that's not the only thing to love about H-Town. The city’s Downtown area includes the Theater District, home to the renowned Houston Grand Opera, and the Historic District, with 19th-century architecture and upscale restaurants.
I have been working at Daxko full-time
Talking about culture in the work environment has become a cliche, but it's impossible to talk about Daxko without bringing it up. A fantastic culture that prides itself on it's open, creative, and transparent nature. The people make coming to work each day enjoyable. The benefits are fantastic as well. Free lunches for everyone on Friday help to create a family atmosphere. Affordable health insurance, competitive pay, lenient vacation policy (Including sabbatical) all play a small role in the providing the whole package.
While I don't have this issue personally, it seems like the only people who have a difficult time at Daxko have a strained relationship with their Team Lead. For better or for worse, your Team Lead will have a lot to say in your general happiness. Most of them are fantastic, accommodating, smart people... but of course if you don't like your boss you're going to be in for a rough time.
Advice to Management
Keep up the transparency, it's much appreciated. Don't lose the small benefits that everyone in the office appreciates. They go further than you think.
I applied online. I interviewed at Daxko (Birmingham, AL) in May 2017.
I started off with a Video Interview as well as a personality and cognitive aptitude test. These were great because they could be completed on my own time. I felt like I could show more of my personality through this format than the traditional first round phone interview.
I was then brought in for a one on one interview with a Team Lead, which lasted about an hour and a half. The interview was very relaxed, but also gave me great insight into the position and allowed me to give much further detail regarding my experience.
Next, I was brought in for a peer interview. Essentially, I was given a scenario with some basic background information and instructions letting me know that I would be presenting on how I would approach the situation. I was given plenty of time to prepare for this beforehand and really enjoyed the process. I presented to 6 different team leads and transitioned to the peer interview portion immediately after. This process lasted about an hour and a half. It was awesome to hear different perspectives on the company and have the opportunity to answer questions from different teams within the company.
Lastly, I had a follow up phone call with a Team Lead which was primarily focused on giving me an opportunity to address concerns that they had with my experience and qualifications. How cool is this?! I was given the chance to give further insight into my experience and directly address concerns. This was a first for me. I feel like 9 times out of 10 companies don’t take the time to give you an opportunity to address their concerns.
All in all, the interview process lasted about 2 months.
