Daxko – Why Work For Us?

Software that makes a difference. People who make it better.

Daxko was established in 1998 in Birmingham, AL. In addition to our HQ in Birmingham, we also have an office in Houston, TX. Daxko provides software and services that help member-based organizations increase efficiency, engagement, and community impact.

The #DaxkoNation encompasses the member-based organizations we serve, as well as 200 team members over 6 different products and services. We are deeply motivated to make a difference in the lives of our customers and those they serve. Our workplace, with a culture of collaboration, action, and entrepreneurship, has a well-deserved reputation of providing “career defining” opportunities for team members willing to pursue them.

INTEGRITY WITHOUT COMPROMISE

We define integrity as doing the right thing when nobody is looking. At Daxko we treat our customers, partners, and fellow team members with fairness, honesty, and respect. Without integrity, our best efforts will fail, no matter how good our software and services are.

SENSE OF OWNERSHIP

Sense of ownership is the deep resolve to do what needs to get done. We stay focused on our goals and have a high degree of accountability in the commitments we make.

I worked at Daxko full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - culture: while possibly overwhelming to some when you first start, the culture of this place is contagious. People are happy to be doing what they're doing. They are happy to come to work. Leadership promotes transparency and teamwork. You catch on, and you start to understand why people are the way they are.
    - atmosphere: super casual and laid back. You are allowed to be comfortable. It's not about being stuffy and dressed best - it's about using the space and tools around you to get your job done well. There are open work areas all over the office. It's refreshing to change up scenery.
    - people: most people here are always willing to lend a hand or chip in to get something done. Collaboration and innovation are genuinely encouraged from leadership. Of course there is always your office drama, but that is few and far between here.
    - benefits: Top notch. You will be hard pressed to find better in the area. 15 days PTO to start, great insurance coverage, daily perks in the office. Free Friday lunches are every single Friday. You have two fridges stocked with nearly any drink you'd want.
    - office: it's beautiful. Really. Light and airy. Modern. Colorful. Promotes a comfortable, cheerful work atmosphere.
    - career development: you work hard and learn, you will get recognized. In my short time there, I saw several people get promoted from within.

    Cons

I would say that if you aren't into the benefits, perks, and culture this company offers, you will not be happy here. The culture is deep and the people here really believe in it. It will not go away. Also, the pay may not be the highest, but the benefits, in my opinion, more than make up for that.

    Advice to Management

Continue doing what you do! Daxko was my dream company to work for for a reason. It's starts with you guys. Continue to recognize your team members and reward them with fulfilling careers.

    Strategic Relationship Manager Interview

    Anonymous Employee in Birmingham, AL
    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Daxko (Birmingham, AL) in May 2017.

    Interview

I started off with a Video Interview as well as a personality and cognitive aptitude test. These were great because they could be completed on my own time. I felt like I could show more of my personality through this format than the traditional first round phone interview.

I was then brought in for a one on one interview with a Team Lead, which lasted about an hour and a half. The interview was very relaxed, but also gave me great insight into the position and allowed me to give much further detail regarding my experience.

Next, I was brought in for a peer interview. Essentially, I was given a scenario with some basic background information and instructions letting me know that I would be presenting on how I would approach the situation. I was given plenty of time to prepare for this beforehand and really enjoyed the process. I presented to 6 different team leads and transitioned to the peer interview portion immediately after. This process lasted about an hour and a half. It was awesome to hear different perspectives on the company and have the opportunity to answer questions from different teams within the company.

Lastly, I had a follow up phone call with a Team Lead which was primarily focused on giving me an opportunity to address concerns that they had with my experience and qualifications. How cool is this?! I was given the chance to give further insight into my experience and directly address concerns. This was a first for me. I feel like 9 times out of 10 companies don’t take the time to give you an opportunity to address their concerns.

All in all, the interview process lasted about 2 months.
