I have been working at Dayton Children's Hospital full-time (Less than a year)
Everyone at Dayton Children's is so respectful and team oriented. There is really a community at this hospital. I love this job and I have never felt better taken care of in a workplace. My team leaders and supervisors want to make sure that I am fully prepared to take care of my patients as well as myself. Plus the kids are always so cute.
There is not much wiggle room to move up or be promoted. Most of the head staff has been here for years and there are rarely openings for those positions.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Dayton Children's Hospital (Dayton, OH) in January 2016.
I applied online and received a call about a week later to meet with HR. My interview with HR was the standard questions. I was asked to describe myself and why I felt I would a good fit
"What a wonderful gift to a family to say 'look, we know it's the right medicine. How come? Because we've taken that very tumor from your child's body and we've exposed it to this medicine and we know it works!'"
Today the fight to cure cancer took a giant leap forward with the launch of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Atlas (PBTA) – and Dayton Children’s is a founding member. Brain tumors are the leading cause of disease-related death in children. Even so, little progress has been made in finding a cure. But at Dayton Children's, neurosurgeon, Dr. Robert Lober, isn't going to stop searching which is why he has built a living biobank to research childhood brain tumors. Tumors removed from patients are grown in a dish to become 100s of tumors so they can be shared with researchers all over the world who are working on a cure.
