Pros

I've worked at quite a few different companies in different software industries (video game, start-ups, enterprise) and I can say that the people here are some of my favorites I've worked with.

Cons

I'm going to speak to this from an engineering leader’s perspective as I wouldn't feel right commenting on other departments. I do genuinely believe that there is always room for improvement at every

Over the last 12 months, we’ve been dedicated to making good on promises we laid out last June.

    Application

I applied through an employee referral The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Dealerware (United States) in Jul 2021

    Interview

From first contact the interview process with Dealerware was thoughtful, streamlined, applicant focused, and overall a smooth enjoyable endeavor. I could tell that the company was interested in making this process beneficial for both of us and truly seeing if and where we could find a good fit between us, rather than an excuse to rule me out.

Communication was quick and consistent at every level from recruitment to management. People took the additional time to explain the process and offer themselves to ensure any questions I had were answered and that I had adequate info and accommodations to perform at my best and relax.

Having been through several application and interview processes during my search, the individual efforts of each person stood out and spoke much louder than any company policies or values could.

There were about three rounds to the process: I spoke with a recruiter, was given a coding challenge, spoke with a hiring manager in the engineering department, and a final round wherein I spoke with a Software Engineer I to further discuss my experience and a project that I was proud of and a bit more about the position, a Scrum Master to talk culture and how their teams are generally shaped and directed, and once more to the head of Engineering. At every point, I felt invested in, and that regardless of the outcome that this company wanted me to come away from this process with a bit more information, confidence, and empowered in my journey. I was constantly kept abreast of next steps, and timelines. The entire process was refreshing and I would recommend Dealerware, highly.
    Interview

I was asked to present a project that I was proud of and to walk them through some of my code and a particularly challenging or impressive portion and why and how I made the decisions that I did.
