Technical Account Manager

Being a woman in tech, I only recently started advocating for myself at work about advancement opportunities. Because of this I wanted to ask this question to my male counterparts. When you have 1:1's with your direct reports and talk about career growth / aspirations what is your managers’ response typically? I’d like to gauge how my experience (negative) differs from others. For instance are you met with blockades, enthusiasm, dread, etc?

    Difficult Interview

I applied through an employee referral The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Deepgram (United States) in Apr 2022

My process started with a referral which was followed up on quickly by the recruiting team for a half hour screening call. After the recruiter call I had a half hour meeting/interview with a researcher on the team covering background, prior projects and touching on some basic ML concepts. The next step was a take home task. I thought that the task was relatively vague and I found it difficult to make progress as I did not have prior experience working with audio data. After the take home came a 45 minute meeting with two team members to talk about the take home task. About 3 days after this interview I got a call saying that I didn't get an offer. This was not surprising given my take home and overall I was happy with the process as it was both prompt and professional.

In hindsight I would recommend taking time to thoroughly study both concepts but particularly the open source software relevant to ASR before applying for the internship.

Build a model for speaker change detection.
