Our Mission Statement: To provide clinically effective psychological and psychiatric services to residents of long-term care and assisted living facilities, serving as an integral part of the multidisciplinary care team in order to improve the patients’ overall health, well-being, and clinical outcomes.
Deer Oaks employs mental health practitioners; to include doctoral level licensed psychologist, psychiatrist, clinical social workers and nurse practitioners, across the Unites States to provide comprehensive psychological and behavioral rehabilitation services to residents of long-term and other care facilities. Staff enjoy working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to improve the quality of life for the older adults they serve. Providing geropsych services is challenging but amazing work. Some of the cases involve intimate situations, raw emotions, resolving unfinished business, preparing for death, and helping individuals find purpose / meaning in their current stage of life.
New members of the Deer Oaks’ Team immediately appreciate the administrative support that they receive from the corporate office. Provider Support Coordinators and other administrative support staff are there to assist with new referrals, billing processes, record keeping and maintenance of patient information.
Paid orientation and training is offered. During the training process, you will receive CEUs, learn valuable techniques that set you up for success in the nursing home environment.

Paul Boskind, PHD is President/CEO and Owner of Deer Oaks EAP Services, LLC. Dr. Boskind founded Deer Oaks in 1992 and served as its sole practitioner. Within a year, Dr. Boskind had hired Deer Oaks’ first full-time clinical employee, an office manager, and developed a network of mental health subcontractors eager to work with him. By 1995, Deer Oaks was incorporated and had grown to three clinical offices and was awarded its first EAP contract with a large school district in San Antonio.
Through Dr. Boskind’s strategic planning, Deer Oaks has grown into a thriving stand-alone provider of high-quality Employee Assistance, Work- Life, and Wellness services. Deer Oaks currently serves approximately two million employees and their dependents throughout the U.S. and internationally. This includes municipalities, county governments, school districts, transportation authorities, healthcare organizations, private employer groups and international employers as well.
Dr. Boskind’s over 20 years of experience in the EAP field and proven experience in providing EAP oversight, management, and short-term counseling has ensured Deer Oaks’ growth and continued success. Dr. Boskind continues to provide direction and guidance in operational, administrative and financial matters, quality assurance and customer service.
Laura Davies provides leadership as President and Chief Financial Officer on the Deer Oaks Executive Management Team. Laura joined the Organization in 2003. She brings over 30 years of corporate finance, treasury management and accounting experience to Deer Oaks where she oversees all accounting, finance and treasury functions.
Laura previously served as Chief Financial Officer of an publically traded international railroad company. During her tenure with this high growth, acquisition-oriented company, Laura was responsible for all finance, risk management, treasury management, investor relations and accounting functions. Laura also served on the board of directors and was integrally involved in the company’s initial public offering, subsequent public equity offerings, several private placements of debt and equity and numerous syndicated bank transactions. Prior to the railroad company, Laura was a practicing CPA and served as an Audit Manager with an international public accounting firm.

I applied online. The process took 2+ weeks. I interviewed at Deer Oaks Mental Health Assoc (El Paso, TX) in June 2019.
The process was not too long. I had the opportunity to hear about the position before I got questions asked. I was interested in understanding why they felt I was a good fit for their company. The interviewer made me feel very comfortable. I did not have any issues answering the questions asked.
