    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Delano Regional Medical Center full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Excellent opportunity to broaden your knowledge in clinical Laboratory diagnostic testing in all departments of the medical laboratory. Enhances your talent in sharing and teaching the multifarious procedures in the lab in the fields of microbiology, ,hematology, chemistry, serology , urinalysis, parasitology, clinical microscopy and blood bank.

    Cons

Limited employment benefits, irregular work scheduling due to short staffing, frequent heavy workload and shortage of supplies in some sections although most of the time due to the very high demand of these essential diagnostic tests and malfunctioning of analyzers/devices in the lab.

    Advice to Management

Give more incentives to laboratorians particularly clinical laboratory scientists and clinical laboratory assistants to entice CLS/CLS to apply for these positions and bring a more regular schedule of work to lessen the very stressful nature of these jobs.

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Delano Regional Medical Center.

    Interview

Very straight forward. They begin by asking you to tell you about yourself and your nursing background or any related experience. They also ask two situational questions related to working in that unit. The basics.

    Interview Questions

    • Tell me about yourself, what would you do if you have problems with a coworker, what would you do if you had trouble communicating with a patient.   Answer Question
