    Cons

Upper management does not communicate and tends to keep everything a secret.
Roles and expectations change constantly because they cannot backfill positions quick enough.
    Parking is horrible.

    Senior QA Engineer Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Deluxe Entertainment (Burbank, CA) in January 2017.

    Interview

Got a call from the company recruiter who scheduled a phone interview. I waited for the phone interview and no one called me. So I called the recruiter back, who rescheduled the phone interview. (I would think someone would call me to reschedule.)The phone interview went ok. I was then called by the recruiter to come in for an in-person interview. The recruiter said that she emailed the Director about one of the interviewers was out sick and that there was a replacement. He said he didn't know about it. I was also told that the position wasn't for this one dept but for another. The interview room that was booked had someone using it, so I ended up being interviewed in the Director's office. Shortly the Director took a phone call that lasted about 5-7 mins. He apologized and said that it was an important call from a DevOps Engineer who left the company because he was bored; didn't have much to do and that he had important information that he needed to get. (This is like a red flag to me.) He then said to me that I didn't have enough hands on experience with Automation(I told the guy during the phone interview that I'm not that experienced in Automation.) I then interviewed with a QA Engineer who asked me simple SQL questions and also gave me a couple of coding questions to answer. The QA Engineer and the Director both agreed that I wasn't a fit for the position. The 2 hour interview only lasted 1 hour. A total waste of my time. The phone interview guy could have just said right then and there that I wasn't a fit for the position, since they needed an advanced QA Automation expert. The drive was about 40-45mins each way from my home. My impression is that this company isn't respectful of people's time, and they have poor communication. Glad that I didn't waste another hour interviewing with them!
