The company has a lot of smart people trying to solve difficult problems in pricing and promotions management. Benefits are good and the work climate is casual and relaxed.
The company, although small, is very silo'd. working across teams and imagining solutions spanning current products is not encouraged. It looks like at the time, the company was just trying to maintain the status quo until acquired.
Advice to Management
Rekindle the spirit of the original startup, take risks and try to unify the product portfolio. use the assets demandtec build in the broader context of IBM to scale.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at DemandTec (San Mateo, CA) in January 2012.
The hiring process is overall good except one guy who does not allow me to go to restroom or eat my lunch during the lunch interview.
