Citizenship Initiatives

Fall: Our annual Mission Month

At DentaQuest, we all get excited when Fall rolls around. Across just one month, our teams contribute more than 2,700 hours in volunteer service to a range of organizations. For instance, we revitalize community gardens at local elementary schools, enhance temporary housing for families with sick children, and write letters and cards to U.S. troops stationed around the world.

    I have been working at DentaQuest full-time (Less than a year)


    DentaQuest hires great people, who are smart and qualified. The company is very mission and goal oriented and has set ambitious goals for being the leading voice in oral health. There's still a lot of work to be done to get there, but the right steps are being taken, and the people are very driven to deliver.

    Work-life balance has been very good for me. I feel autonomous and I make an impact, but I still have a personal life and it's very nice.


    The whole company needs a huge investment in tech upgrades. There's a new CIO who will hopefully drive success, but it's going to be a very large upgrade.

    Change is slow around here. Part of that's industry, part of it's the technical limitation, part of it is people have worked here for decades and are used to things a certain way. There could be an internal cultural revolution to tie into the public one.

    Advice to Management

    There needs to be a regular model that gathers feedback to management and create changes that employees are wishing for. Do an ENPS from a 3rd party, Officevibe, or another service to address ideas an concerns. It's a little too old school of a system right now, and nothing anonymous or scheduled.

    Please, please, please invest in tech on a recurring scale so you're not always playing catch up.

    I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at DentaQuest (Boston, MA) in April 2019.


    Arranged a phone interview and the day before the interview I received a notice that the interview canceled. I reached out to find out why and a different person responded and stated that he was new and the meeting was still on. The day of the interview he doesn't call so I reach out again to see what happens and he responds that he was called into an "emergency meeting." We reschedule for later in the day and he calls me an hour earlier than we had agreed upon. He asks me one question and doesn't seem interested in my answer at all. He then rambles about how things are very busy and will write up a response for the hiring manager and hangs up. Interview lasted 10 mins according to my phone. To say that I felt like he was blowing me off is an understatement.
