I worked at Destination Hotels full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Enjoyed coming aboard just before company growth. Felt an integral part of my property's direction and growth. Loved culture...first company to actuate culture and not just talk about it.

    Cons

Wish company wide growth after merger was taking place in mid Atlantic area (wdc) sad to see so many good people leave with no relocatable hotels in the same market. Sorry to see the urban growth promise for wdc disappear.

    Advice to Management

More hotels in DC metro area. Keep the base company culture alive, it's the one thing that sets you apart.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Destination Hotels in May 2012.

    Interview

I was hired seasonal from out of state and was interviewed via Skype. I first interviewed with the executive chef and the assistant human resources director. I was asked for a second video interview and interviewed with the executive food and beverage director and the head of human resources.

    Interview Questions

    • the most difficult question is what are your weaknesses?   Answer Question

    Negotiation

There was not much compromise, we discussed briefly how much I would be working and came to an hourly wage we could both agree on.
