I have been working at Destination Maternity part-time (Less than a year)
For my position I work alone. I rarely ever have to see or talk to people. Once in a while I'll come in contact with someone but it's rare that I do unless I'm telling someone about a promo we have or showing them an item. My manager is really nice. You're always doing something productive.
You're almost always at the desk but then on some days you're going back and forth from the computer to the floor multiple times. Wish I had longer work days to complete all of my tasks.
I applied online. The process took 2+ weeks. I interviewed at Destination Maternity in October 2015.
Applied on indeed, didn't hear anything for a while, then months later got a pre screening type of call for an interview. The manager was very nice over the phone and in actual interview.
There were really no negotiations. Everything was practically set in stone. I make $9 an hour. Work for 4 hours a day with a 3 day work week. I can take on more hours/days if the manager needs me to. Typically, you look at the store's earnings for the month and see if you meet your planned numbers. Upkeep the department. Print out the promotions and post them in the store. Markdown any items that need to be on sale or clearance. Unpack the shipments and place them on the sales floor. Send any items back to the warehouse if an issue occurs with a customer complaint or something or its out of season/discontinued. It's very easy. I like it.
