Mission: Powering the economy of Southeast Michigan.
You get a lot of exposure and insight to the inner workings and facets of an organization. You have the opportunity to learn business skills related to finance, marketing, etc. There are also opportunities to network and meet other high ranking business people. In addition, employees are able to volunteer their time working on internal committees to make it a great workplace by hosting fun activities.
No organization is perfect, but I feel that the Chamber is truly an organization committed to being a great place to work and an organization that focuses on the betterment of it's community.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Detroit Regional Chamber (Detroit, MI).
Interviews are set up by phone and followed up with an email of more detailed information. Have to pay to park downtown.
Very nice office on 19th floor with great views.
offer was spelled out during interview process and was non negotiable
