I have been working at Development Counsellors International full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

This company is extremely transparent, you can ask anyone anything. The perks are awesome, the occasional free lunches, dogs in the office, yoga classes, personal training classes, professional development, summer Fridays...! I actually enjoy coming to work and seeing friendly smiling faces, everyone wants to be here. Plus, you get flow out to NY for a company retreat once a year!!

    Cons

The hiring process was quite rigorous, but I can understand why. There is a certain type of person they are looking for that fits their company culture. If you are looking for a 9-5 job, this is not for you. DCI looks for people who are willing to put in the extra effort.

    Advice to Management

Would love if Andy (President) would visit all of the offices more, I think it would enhance the company culture here at DCI.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Development Counsellors International (New York, NY) in February 2017.

    Interview

During the interview process with DCI, they really ensure everyone is on the same page by communicating the process clearly to you and keeping you up to date with what the "next steps" involve. Their point of contact (Nancy) was amazing to deal with and was happy to answer any questions I had. While I originally applied for a different position in the company, Nancy really got to know me, my past experience and my goals for the future, resulting in her suggesting a different role in the company that actually suited me better.

While there are multiple stages to their interview process, you get the feeling that they're ensuring you are the right fit for DCI's culture and workload. Each of the interviewers were incredibly friendly and were able to provide insights into how the company operates, as well as what the expectations are on new employee's. While it was probably the more rigorous interview process I have gone through, it was also definitely the clearest and friendliest.
