Be dependable

Inspire confidence within our community and in one another.

CGM: More than just a number

Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) is a small wearable device that tracks your glucose throughout the day and night, notifying you of highs and lows so you can take action.

CGM helps to minimize the guesswork that comes from making decisions based solely on a number from a blood glucose meter reading, for better diabetes management.

Dexcom CGM

Whether you have type 1 or type 2 diabetes, CGM can help you make more informed treatment decisions and can lead to better glycemic control. So how does this technology work? A CGM system consists of three parts: a glucose sensor, a transmitter and a small receiver that displays real-time glucose information.

  1. Small sensor

A discrete sensor located just underneath the skin measures your glucose levels.

  2. Transmitter

This piece fits onto the sensor and sends data wirelessly to your display device.

  3. Display device

Glucose activity is shown in vivid colors so you can easily see when it’s trending high, low or within range.

Dexcom CLARITY® cloud-based reporting software

Dexcom CLARITY® is a unique cloud-based reporting system that allows you and your healthcare professional to access and track your glucose data anywhere2 and quickly identify critical glucose patterns.

I have been working at Dexcom full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

You will know that your work helped a child with Type I Diabetes go to his first slumber party by himself. You will feel good about your influence on the world.

You will learn. You will keep learning.

The friction to make pretty dramatic changes to procedure is very low for a medical device company.

    Cons

Due to rapid growth, many basic business processes are not well in place at Dexcom. Purchasing is a nightmare, for example. Good news: everything is flexible, everything changes. I've seen improvement every year.

Secondly, some groups do not talk to each other that really should. I've seen some very bad relationships between Quality, Regulatory, Test, and Development. This is not the norm, but it can be very frustrating when it happens.

    Advice to Management

We've got a great product. We've got great people. There's some serious traffic snarls in just Getting Things Done that need to be sorted out: identify basic business operations, make their performance visible, then reward change.

I applied online. I interviewed at Dexcom (Mesa, AZ) in June 2017.

    Interview

I applied online to Dexcom (Mesa, AZ) and heard back from them the day after over email. I was initially sent a series of interview questions which they asked me to respond to so they could review my candidacy. After that I was contacted for a phone interview with HR. I have an official interview Monday, so I do not know what questions are going to come up but I can help with phone/email interview.
