Company Updates

  • “It’s a dream come true for me to work for a company I love in New York City. I moved here two years ago and most of my New York journey has been with DialogueDirect. I experienced moving out on my own for the first time so it feels like I grew into adulthood here. I was a really shy person when I started so it really helped me to be able to show myself to other people and be more open. I’ve gotten the chance to learn how to express my ideas and learn about other people." - Lance

Save the Children works in communities in the United States and around the world, making sure children are healthy, nourished, protected and learning. Through our groundbreaking work in child survival, early education and protection, we provide children and their families with a strong foundation for the future.

People, plants and animals around the world depend on healthy lands and waters for survival. That makes protecting natural places in our backyard and across the globe our common cause. The Nature Conservancy plays a vital role. We use science to solve complex conservation challenges. We build collaborative partnerships to implement innovative solutions. We work with local communities to achieve lasting, measurable results. Our goal is to ensure the health and survival of the natural world that sustains us all

ChildFund exists to help deprived, excluded and vulnerable children have the capacity to improve their lives and the opportunity to become young adults, parents and leaders who bring lasting and positive change in their communities. We promote societies whose individuals and institutions participate in valuing, protecting and advancing the worth and rights of children.

The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals® (ASPCA®) was the first humane society to be established in North America and is, today, one of the largest in the world.

Our organization was founded on the belief that animals are entitled to kind and respectful treatment at the hands of humans and must be protected under the law. Headquartered in New York City, the ASPCA maintains a strong local presence, and with programs that extend our anti-cruelty mission across the country, we are recognized as a national animal welfare organization. We are a privately funded 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, and are proud to boast more than 2 million supporters across the country.

The ASPCA’s mission, as stated by founder Henry Bergh in 1866, is “to provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals throughout the United States.”

    Pros

I've learned more about communication and marketing at this job than i have in earning a bachelors degree.

Team/Family oriented culture where you genuinely feel like everyone wants you to succeed

The people that work at DialogueDirect are incredible, an opportunity to make life long friends

If you have a student mentality, work hard and focus, you will be successful

You actually feel like you're making a difference in the world.

Work Trips are the best and so much fun!

    Cons

This is a face-to-face canvassing job where you will be standing for 8 hours a day asking people for sustainable donations under any weather condition.

It's amazing how terrible some people on the street are

    Advice to Management

This job at times is mentally and emotionally draining. A few people i know have gotten verbally/physically assaulted by the public and not much compassion was shown from upper management. You tell these kids that "it's a mindset" but it comes off more like "repress it". And some of the stuff that we have dealt with is not okay to just tune out. I understand its a job, be these are also the people that make you money.

Stop advertising this job as "brand ambassador" or "Marketing Specialist"

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at DialogueDirect (New York, NY) in November 2017.

    Interview

Applied online, they reached out to set up a time to call me. Called me 10 minutes late. Had second interview with them, blocked out an ample amount of time in my schedule for that day, and they called me late again, this time 15 minutes past the scheduled interview time.
