I worked at Digimarc full-time (More than a year)
Offers a competitive salary, and excellent benefits, including regular stock grants. The tech is cool as well. Nice working environment (even though it's a cube farm). Really nice people.
Super unclear at the time whether or not they were actually trying to bring the tech to market, or just prove out its value. Lots of business decisions that seemed short-sighted in terms of generating any long-term recurring revenue streams, so pointing to the latter--but internal communication on the topic would have been nice.
There's also a fair amount of good ole boy cronyism in the top layer FWIW.
Advice to Management
CEO is not particularly inspiring, or friendly.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Digimarc (Beaverton, OR) in September 2016.
First I had a phone screening interview, then I was asked to provide written answers to 6-7 technical screening questions involving writing code for inserting integers into a linked list (in ascending order), then I was asked to come to their site for a 3 hour in person interview to meet 6-7 employees (one at a time) answering technical questions and describing past project experiences.
