- Small size will force you to wear many hats/learn a lot
- Vision for growth needs to be clearer
- Teams can sometimes be more silo'd than should be
- Some management turnover needed
- Small size can sometimes lead to pain points and bottlenecks
Advice to Management
DA has been going for a long time now, adapting to the changing marketplace quite nimbly. But I feel there is confusion internally about what the road ahead means in terms of growth. It's hard to tell if the company wants to grow or remain the same size. I feel that solidifying that long-term strategy will help to make the right decisions about how to make the day-to-day that much better/more efficient.
I applied online. I interviewed at Direct Agents (New York, NY) in July 2017.
A few days after applying online I received an email from the HR Manager asking when I'm available for a short phone call. I responded promptly. I waited five days before checking in to see if she received my email. A different person responded and I scheduled a call with him. During the call he seemed unenthusiastic and seemed like he had never interviewed anyone before. He let me know that I would hear back from them by the next day. That was five days ago and I still haven't heard back.
