I worked at Distributed Systems Services full-time (More than 3 years)
Jim Sweeney cares about his employees. He knows each by name and gets to know them. Continue company events. Employees not at the corporate office are included in activities that happen at corporate. Nice culture.
Some areas are a little thinly staffed. Bonus program.
Advice to Management
Continue to invest in your employees, leaving was a difficult decision as it should be for anyone who works at DSS. Continue to be involved in the community. Continue the town hall meetings. Allow a question and answer session with upper management. Have Skip Level management meetings, your employees have a lot of great ideas for the company and the customers.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Distributed Systems Services (Wyomissing, PA) in March 2015.
Applied online. Was contacted by email to setup an interview. I only did an in person interview however they normally do a phone screen. They focused primarily on customer service questions rather than technical questions. Had to take a short quiz on technical questions. Only thing that bothered me was the office had multiple lights that were out in the MSC. It's a bit odd to see people working in the dark. Waited 2 weeks after interviewing for offer.
They asked what rate I was looking for. They gave me what I asked for. First year PTO depends on when you start. After that it's 16 days, increasing a day each year.
