Doble Engineering Company was founded in 1920 by Frank C. Doble, a graduate of Tufts University. Soon after graduation, Frank rented out space at the university and began to develop diagnostic test equipment for the young electric utility industry. Doble’s first breakthrough was the Portable Insulation Test, a method to measure the health of bushings before they failed.
As Doble expanded its work with more utility companies, it became clear that there was an immense opportunity for increased collaboration. In 1934 Doble hosted its first customer conference, giving utilities an arena to exchange ideas with each other and Doble, problem solve challenges and share the results of the tests they ran with Doble equipment. Through this feedback and collaboration, Doble has become a true partner for the power industry’s testing needs, providing lab services, consulting, cutting-edge software and gold-standard hardware products that make the industry safer, smarter and more efficient.
Today, Doble offers a comprehensive and extensive scope of diagnostic products and services to test and maintain transformers, bushings, protective relays, circuit breakers, rotating machines and more. With more than 400 employees and 5500 customers, offices in eleven countries, and 55 million points of test data for more than 1 million different electric apparatus, Doble is dedicated to helping the global power industry overcome its challenges, no matter how big or how small.

I have been working at Doble Engineering Company full-time
There have been some negative reviews about upper management receiving comments. This has not been my experience. The president himself has actively solicited comments (and I personally have given some). I believe he is acting on those that match what he believes we need to do. (Thus he is not acting on some others)
Other positives are that the benefits are good. I have seen (since the fairly recent change in presidents) a much more active set of promotions.
There are cons (and pros) to a small to medium company that's been around for a while, and one of those is that it is difficult to get changes accomplished, and it can be difficult to work on all of the changes that are needed with a smaller staff.
Advice to Management
Look at the previous complaints and see what can be changed, but in general continue to prioritize and make changes at a determined, but reasonable rate.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at Doble Engineering Company (Watertown, MA) in December 2015.
Pretty straight forward process, phone interview with HR and technical phone interview, face to face after couple of days. Met with couple of engineering manager and few developers. The whole process was very professional.
