I have been working at Dorminy Medical Center full-time (More than a year)
Patients and their families are more than account numbers. Employees are more than payroll numbers. Team work among the departments and the shift rotations. Wonderful hospitalists and ER physicians. Fairly stable schedule. It does depend on patient load in some areas.
Acuity level of patient load is not always taken into account.
There is not an incentive to cross train and become competent in different areas of hospital.
Advice to Management
Allow your staff to have input into the matrix. Give your staff an incentive to become competent in areas other than their original hire areas. Offer training and skills fairs that are meaningful and well thought out and prepared.
I applied in-person. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Dorminy Medical Center (Fitzgerald, GA) in August 2011.
Interview was easy. Questions about bench work and long term goals. Asked about how confident I am on my proffession. If i love my job. How do i see myself 5 years from now. How do I rate myself as a tech.
