I have been working at Drake University part-time

The people that you work with are what really make the job worthwhile. I have really enjoyed working with my colleagues in Drake Technology Services and being able to interface with other departments of the college as well.

As with any educational institution, you are bound by bureaucracy, which can be a real drag when you need to get something done but those higher up the food chain are unable to see the benefit.

    Advice to Management

More transparency and better communication is key to having a positive relationship with your employees and the students.

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Drake University (Des Moines, IA) in May 2014.

I had a brief phone interview with my supervisor, going over my resume, why I wanted the job, why I was qualified, and had a conversational aspect with both sides asking questions. Was then invited for an onsite interview where I was shown around the building, asked a few more questions, and also interview with a department head, where more HR intensive questions were asked.
