I have been working at DuBois Chemicals full-time (More than 5 years)
Most managers are fair and flexible.
Understanding of family issues.
Three weeks PTO your first year.
That is about it.
Benefits are bare minimum & extremely costly.
The corporate office space is filthy. The common areas are worse. I am not a clean freak, but this place is disgusting. I am not exaggerating. I would be embarrassed to have a customer visit if I was a manager. What ever they pay the cleaning company is too much.
Dubois acquires other companies to grow.
They REALLY need to plan integrations better. At least 8 so far and each one has been horrific. You would think they would learn after each one. But not so much.
Most co- workers are nice and friendly.
One department is rude and snarky. You are warned about them when you start. So why doesn't the company do something about them??
Advice to Management
Diversity training should be mandatory for all employees at all locations.
All employees need to be reminded that co-workers are internal customers.
I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at DuBois Chemicals.
After applying online through filling out a questionnaire, I was given the opportunity to schedule a phone interview with a hiring manager. It involved some typical questions and lasted about 15 minutes.
I rated this a negative experience because it soon became clear they did not actually look at the online questionnaire, repeating an answer I had already submitted made the interviewer doubt I actually wanted to work at Dubois Chemical and the interview did not go well after that point. It seemed like a waste of time, because it seems like if they had actually screened the applicants they would have known not to give me an interview.
