Firmly rooted in the United States since 1925, Dunn-Edwards Paints ® began a small, family-owned business that — through hard work and commitment to quality — has grown to become one of the country's largest manufacturers and distributors of paints and painting supplies.

We dedicate ourselves to providing professionals and consumers throughout the Southwest with a complete line of the highest-quality, best-value paints, painting supplies and equipment — as well as superior service. And we do it with pride.

What began as a wallpaper store more than 90 years ago has grown to become one of the largest paint manufacturers in the Southwestern United States.

Frank “Buddy” Dunn founded the company in 1925, not as a paint maker but as a wallpaper store in Los Angeles. The business expanded as he added a line of paints, and later (with two employees) he began manufacturing his own paints in the backroom of the company’s second store.

In 1938, he partnered with his friend Arthur C. Edwards, a former painting contractor and pigment salesman, to form the Dunn-Edwards Corporation. Sales immediately improved, and a business philosophy was born: “Make the finest line of paint and give the best service at fair prices.” It’s a philosophy that endures through this day.

I have been working at Dunn-Edwards full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I have been very impressed with Dunn-Edwards. They truly care about their employees. The Phoenix market has great leadership that wants every employee to succeed. They have great training so you can move into your position and not feel helpless for 3 months. They have a rich heritage of producing quality paint and believe in great service. They pay more than most of the industry. They believe in full time positions and don't offer many part time positions. It is definitely has a family feel. Not so cut throat like Sherwin Williams. They also have a lot of advancement potential. Most Store have a team atmosphere and good moral. Great work life balance, management positions work 40 hours per week and get many paid vacations.

    Cons

No Overtime and some heavy lifting every so often.
