Dunn-Edwards Corporation is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and to provide a safe, drug-free working environment.
Firmly rooted in the United States since 1925, Dunn-Edwards Paints ® began a small, family-owned business that — through hard work and commitment to quality — has grown to become one of the country's largest manufacturers and distributors of paints and painting supplies.
We dedicate ourselves to providing professionals and consumers throughout the Southwest with a complete line of the highest-quality, best-value paints, painting supplies and equipment — as well as superior service. And we do it with pride.
What began as a wallpaper store more than 90 years ago has grown to become one of the largest paint manufacturers in the Southwestern United States.
Frank “Buddy” Dunn founded the company in 1925, not as a paint maker but as a wallpaper store in Los Angeles. The business expanded as he added a line of paints, and later (with two employees) he began manufacturing his own paints in the backroom of the company’s second store.
In 1938, he partnered with his friend Arthur C. Edwards, a former painting contractor and pigment salesman, to form the Dunn-Edwards Corporation. Sales immediately improved, and a business philosophy was born: “Make the finest line of paint and give the best service at fair prices.” It’s a philosophy that endures through this day.
I have been working at Dunn-Edwards full-time
Great company with a long history, great employees, and great growth opportunities.
Benefits are okay, but could be more competitive. Could use additional resources in certain areas.
I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Dunn-Edwards.
The hiring process consisted of a phone screening, in person interview with panel of current store managers, and then a final interview with the district manager. Questions were typical...What is your management style / philosophy? Tell us about your past experiences with being a manager. What did you like / dislike? How would you bring in business / make the store more profitable?
They did a background check and drug test. Whole process took about a month and a half.
Was no negotiation. Either take it or leave it.
