I worked at Duval County Public School full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Duval County was in many respects a great place to work. I had a supervisor who was willing to give me the autonomy I needed to be successful.

I also loved how diverse the teaching community was. Our school community was very diverse, and I appreciate the different relationships I was able to build.

    Cons

I don't believe that our school embodied a collective vision for its students.
I also believe that my supervisors did not provide employees with constructive feedback they could use to improve their teaching practice.

    Advice to Management

Spend more time in the classroom, and delegate behavioral issues.

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Duval County Public School (Jacksonville, FL).

    Interview

Called a few days after applying to HR, the interview was fairly relaxed and I felt comfortable. It was with the principal and assistant principal. We talked about scenarios, how I would respond to them, and they asked about my background.
