EBSCO Industries is excited to announce a new employee-led community giving initiative – EBSCO Community Impact.
This funding and volunteer program is designed to help EBSCO team members create positive results through the service and support provided by the company. In 2019, five to ten organizations who support one or more of EBSCO’s five community pillars – Education, Environment, Social Services, Health, and the Arts – will be awarded grants to help further their mission.
If you are a member of a non-profit organization that associates itself with one of the pillars mentioned above, we encourage you to visit http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQGSa to learn more about the program and the process for submitting a grant request. If, instead, you know of an organization that would benefit from this program, please share the site and information with the appropriate people.
We look forward to learning more about the ways in which different organizations are making a difference in our community!

EBSCO was founded in 1944, at the height of World War II. Our humble beginning was as a provider of products and services for men and women in the armed services. As a sales-driven organization, EBSCO grew to become an international company focused on customers and service.
Today, we can be found in a wide range of industries. We connect students, academics, and medical professionals to vital online journals and publications. We are among the nation’s leading outdoor brands. Our neighborhood community developments are award-winning, and our business-to-business products are relied upon by companies large and small. We manufacture outdoor LED signs for churches, schools, and businesses, as well as merchandising displays. We are a leading manufacturer and distributor of licensed products to college bookstores. We sell promotional products, stand-up-desks, electrical charging stations, workspace product solutions, and insurance.
Altogether, EBSCO is more than 20 diverse companies employing over 5,500 people worldwide. We have the highest Dun & Bradstreet Financial Strength Rating that can be awarded, and we are consistently ranked among the top 200 largest privately held corporations by Forbes magazine.

We aim for our people and our businesses to thrive. We work hard to create cultures where trust, respect, transparency, and open communication are key components. Innovation and continuous improvement push our businesses past the status quo. We encourage our team members to set ambitious goals, and we understand that failures lead to insights for the next goal to be achieved.
By empowering our team and creating alignment on stretch goals, we develop cultures where our team members want to contribute and win together.

It’s a lot easier to reach your potential when you are enthusiastic about what you do, so we believe your success begins with doing the things you enjoy. We hire the best, most talented people, and then strive to provide a work environment where they can flourish.
EBSCO was founded by an entrepreneur who was passionate about honoring commitments to our customers, rejecting the status quo, and seeking to continuously improve ourselves and our products. We continue to operate that way today, with a passion for helping our people and our businesses succeed together. EBSCO is a successful company because of the people who have worked here in the past, and it will continue to thrive because of the innovative thinking, commitment, and drive from the people who work here today, and tomorrow.
We provide a fully-integrated, comprehensive benefits package to support our team of professionals, offering the kind of benefits that employees have come to expect from companies focused on their teams: medical insurance, flexible spending accounts, paid maternity leave, life insurance, and retirement savings plans.
For team members at our headquarters in Birmingham, AL, we also offer several onsite amenities, including a credit union, cafeteria, fully equipped gym, health clinic, and electric vehicle charging stations.
EBSCO is committed to continuous improvement, understanding that change is necessary and realizing that perfection is a process, not a result. Because of this, EBSCO has implemented ‘Leading the EBSCO Way’, a robust leadership program designed to give team members at every level the necessary support to continue cultivating passion and foster their personal leadership. To further aid in the development of our leaders, we offer an Accelerator Program, a new initiative built around the purpose of developing talent within the organization from which our companies can draw for leading growth-oriented opportunities. Through these programs, we aim to support the growth and development of our team members and our businesses.

I have been working at EBSCO Industries full-time (More than a year)
The company strives to do what is best for team members. There has been an abundance of changes over the past few years, but in my opinion, they have been for the better. Change can be scary, but I feel like the leadership team has done a good job of communicating the strategy behind these adjustments and the vision moving forward.
I am very fortunate to say that I feel like my department is an extension of my family. We have a lot of fun together, but we also hold each other accountable and expect each other to give his/her best effort.
The benefits offered by EBSCO are great. Would I like to have a higher salary? Of course - who wouldn't? But when you factor in health benefits and onsite amenities (health clinic, gym, cafeteria, and more), compensation is more than fair.
From day one at this company, I felt at home and as if I was part of something bigger. If you are looking for something similar, I highly encourage you to consider a position at EBSCO.
Advancement opportunities are not plentiful in my area, but the ability to learn and grow as an expert in my field make up for it.
Advice to Management
Stay the course and continue to communicate the company's vision to team members.
I applied through other source. I interviewed at EBSCO Industries (Ipswich, MA) in June 2017.
The entire process was very smooth. The Talent acquisition team reached out via LinkedIn, an initial phone screen with the Hiring Manager leading to In-person interview the following week. The office and staff were very pleasant, and I felt it a place to work next instantly. The atmosphere was lively. Had 3 rounds of interview. First round with the reporting manager, and a technical round with a Senior Developer followed by discussions with other onsite delivery team. It was very interactive, and they check on your experiences and your opinion on a given problem statement. Technical side questions weren't difficult.
It was my first interview in 2.5 years and I'm glad I was able to position my career with a good company
