I have been working at ECFMG full-time (Less than a year)
Flexible working hours, work from home once weekly
Generous benefits package
Stable company, sound leadership
New hires paid less than more tenured employees, despite having more education and responsibilities
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at ECFMG (Philadelphia, PA) in October 2017.
Had one phone interview with the manager and less than a week later, was invited to come to their office for an on-site interview. I interviewed in person with the manager and three members of the help desk team. Their help desk team is all male, they told me. They had even asked me how I would handle sexist/lewd comments or jokes made by them . Red flag if they have to come out and literally ask that question as if I haven't been doing this for 4 years. Kept talking about how their other departments were so "diverse" in an effort to negate the fact that theirs wasn't. They went over my résumé and asked me questions based off it. Pretty straightforward. Lastly, I had a brief interview with an HR person that focused more on the company and non-technical questions. She gave me a pamphlet of their benefits and reiterated how "amazing" they were, which would indicate why alot of people would choose to stay even at the risk of becoming professionally stagnant.
Heard back about a week later only to hear that they decided to go with an internal employee instead. Based on what I was told, they were going to offer me the job but decided to hire someone internal instead which I assume was for the obvious reasons: less work/cost for them.
