American employers pay more in health care costs than employers in any other country in the world. Markups and inconsistent pricing by health care providers and insurance companies contribute to these issues and have continued to escalate in the last few years. ELAP Services LLC (ELAP) works with self-funded employer groups to understand and control employee health care costs. ELAP assists in plan design and jointly establishes limits for payment of medical claims that correlate to the providers’ actual cost of services.

ELAP works with the clients’ stop loss carrier to ensure cohesion between the plan document and stop-loss policy, with a special focus on catastrophic claims management. In doing so, ELAP supports the plan sponsor’s fiduciary duty to prudently manage plan assets, make appropriate coverage determinations and manage appeals in a manner compliant with the Employment Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA).

ELAP assumes certain defense obligations on behalf of our client base in support of this process, and seeks to establish direct, transparent contracts on behalf of self-funded employer groups with providers on a regional and national level. ELAP adheres to the principles of transparent pricing, objectivity and fair reimbursement practices.

ELAP’s advocacy extends well beyond healthcare cost management. We are dedicated to serving the community – below are some of the initiatives and organizations that ELAP is involved with.

ELAP is a proud sponsor of the 28th Annual Eagles Fly for Leukemia Golf Classic. Proceeds from this event fund pediatric cancer research and The EFL Family Support Program. ELAP is also a proud sponsor of Night at the Zoo, which benefits children in the community who are battling pediatric cancer.

Celia’s Hope is about a beautiful 7-year-old child living with Cerebral Palsy (CP). She’s made tremendous strides over the last few years and her family wants the progress to continue. Celia’s team walks, as a family, in support of her and all children with CP. ELAP is proud to support Team Celia’s Hope and the United Cerebral Palsy 5K walk.

The Angelman Syndrom Foundation’s mission is to advance the awareness and treatment of Angelman Syndrom through education and information, research, and support. We exist to give everyone living with Angelman Syndrom a reason to smile, with the ultimate goal of finding a cure. ELAP was a proud participant in the Angelman Walk.

The mission of the ALS Association, Greater Philadelphia Chapter is to lead the fight to treat and cure ALS through global research and nationwide advocacy while also empowering people with Lou Gehrig’s Disease and their families to live fuller lives by providing them with compassionate care and support. ELAP fully supports this mission.

Families of Spinal Muscular Atrophy is dedicated to creating a treatment and cure by funding and advancing a comprehensive research program; supporting SMA families through networking, information and services; improving care for all SMA patients; educating health professionals and the public about SMA; enlisting government support for SMA; and embracing all touched by SMA in a caring community.

ELAP has been a proud supporter of the Bert Bell Memorial Award Dinner. The Bert Bell Memorial Award Dinner supports Michael’s Way. The money they raise helps fund pediatric cancer research, the Family Support Funds at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, A.I. DuPont Hospital for Children, the Philadelphia and South Jersey Ronald McDonald Houses and the Bert Bell Memorial Award Dinner college scholarships.

Founded in 1954 to welcome international visitors to the Philadelphia area, the CDI is one of the premier citizen diplomacy organizations in the United States.

ELAP is proud to support The Coweta Samaritan Clinic, which provides quality healthcare and compassionate support to uninsured and underinsured in a faith-based environment to residents of Coweta County, GA.

ELAP was founded on the belief that transparency and collaboration between self-funded employers and medical providers is the path forward to a system that respects the rights of the employers paying for care and fairly compensates the medical providers who deliver top quality care to individual members.
