Current Employee - Portfolio Manager in Swindon, Wiltshire, South West England, England (UK)

I have been working at EPSRC full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Really varied job with lots of travel and opportunities to speak to academics, industry leaders and policy makers. Really flexible working times and great benefits. If you take the job post-PhD, it opens up a whole world of research policy jobs afterwards.

    Cons

A lot of responsibility, considering the salary. Also, you either choose to live in Swindon or deal with a very expensive or stressful commute.

    Advice to Management

It is sometimes hard to find out the justification behind decisions at the top levels of senior management.
