I have been working at EPSRC full-time (More than a year)
Really varied job with lots of travel and opportunities to speak to academics, industry leaders and policy makers. Really flexible working times and great benefits. If you take the job post-PhD, it opens up a whole world of research policy jobs afterwards.
A lot of responsibility, considering the salary. Also, you either choose to live in Swindon or deal with a very expensive or stressful commute.

Comprehensive multi-part interview (full day) including testing your ability to interview/take notes, presentation on a topic of your choice, formal competency questions, group task and the opportunity to ask questions to HR.
