    A few months ago, I met with a group of Gen Z students interested in pursuing a career in business. I expected the usual questions about internships, resumes and interview techniques; however, the conversation quickly shifted to disruption and how it might impact the future of business, and more importantly, their future.

Our global structure

Our structure is composed of the Executive and Regions. The Executive includes our global leadership, governance bodies and our four geographic Areas. Working together they oversee our global strategy, brand, business planning, investments and priorities.

Our 28 Regions are grouped under four geographic Areas: Americas; Europe, Middle East, India and Africa (EMEIA); Asia-Pacific; and Japan.

This structure is streamlined allowing us to make decisions quickly, execute our strategy and provide exceptional client service wherever in the world our clients do business.

Our global structure means we can respond faster than our competitors. We can access the right people and assemble high-performing teams to deliver exceptional client service worldwide.

    Pros

    Great benefits and ability to work from home. Good training and experience to technical tax accounting in various areas.

    Cons

    Long hours during busy times and during unexpected times of the year. Poor bonus structure, have to work many years before salary compares to industry.

    Application

    I applied through college or university. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at EY (Memphis, TN).

    Interview

    Initial interview was on campus, about a month later I was called back for an office visit and two rounds of interviews, plus an assessment "test" which centered on one's ability to look at a business problem, analytically break it down and offer solutions. I practiced for this by googling how one should break down and analyze business scenarios, and I did very well.
