Eagle Transport Corporation is a professionally managed trucking company transporting liquid petroleum in tanker trailers throughout the Southeastern United States. The Eagle Transport RCMS Policy:
Eagle Transport is dedicated to providing excellent transportation services to our customers. This includes our performance in the areas of health, safety, security, and environmental (also known as "HSSE").
We are committed to the completion of our work processes in a way that results in zero incidents, full compliance with all relevant legal and other requirements, compliance to all of the Responsible Care Guiding Principles, and the continual improvement of HSSE processes. This includes involvement and engagement of all of our stakeholders including our employees, customers, contractors and suppliers.
Our senior management has participated in the development of and fully supports this Policy statement. The endorsement of senior management is indicated by their signature of posted copies of the Eagle Transport RCMS Policy.
Senior management will participate in periodic reviews of the RCMS with particular focus on goals, objectives and targets, which will result in the Continual Improvement of HSSE performance.
Eagle Basics Workshop
The Eagle Basics Workshop is a comprehensive 8-hour class that all Eagle employees must attend during their first 90 days of employment. The Workshop gives participants the opportunity to learn about their new company; to become familiar with Federal rules and regulations; to earn Hazardous Materials and Hazwoper certifications; to fully understand loading and unloading procedures; to become better drivers through Smith System Enhanced Defensive Driver training; and to understand the affects their jobs have on the environment, all in a controlled classroom setting.
This one day program has received high marks from new Eagle team members, Eagle customers, and even law enforcement officials who have attended. The Basics Workshop cements the relationship between the company, the new employee and the motoring public; and pulls all of the many aspects of his job together into an easily understood format that sets the stage for excellent customer service, safe work habits, and highway safety.
Driver “On-The-Job” Training
When a driver is considered for employment, Eagle’s screening process insures that we only hire the most professional driver on the roads today. It might seem that Eagle is being overly-cautious during the screening & hiring process, but we have a commitment to over 1200 employees (not to mention spouses and dependents) that we do everything to protect the reputation and integrity of our Company, not just now, but into the future.
Eagle has developed, through the experience of other transport employees and trainers, a structure to help every driver succeed. Our objective was to assemble a systematic approach to the training process that will give each driver a customized “road map” for their training. Each driver will gain an understanding for the best sequence for task completion, as well as having specific milestones so both the new driver and the Professional Transport Trainer can insure the training is “sinking in”.
The Professional Transport Trainer that the newly-hired driver is teamed with is the best the Company has to offer. They act as an Instructor, Coach, and Mentor as the driver progress through the training system and moves on to working alone. This training process will generally last 3 weeks, and will include training videos from our partner Pro-Tread, as well as in-house training videos our company has produced. Additionally, all newly-hired drivers have wage security during the first 6 months of employment by use of an earnings guarantee, helping them focus on safety & security, not speed.
Once training is complete, each new driver will have a different Driver Trainer ride with them to insure all aspects of fuel or chemical transport has been covered. This “Certifying Day” is the graduation day of a Professional Transport Relocation Specialist!

Have better internal communication but that is for every company out there.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Eagle Transport (Selma, NC) in January 2015.
Interviewer showed me the equipment I will be using, showed me the maintenance department, and showed me the dispatch department. The interviewer introduced me to all of the people I would be working with, to this day, I have encountered everyone he took the time to introduce me to.
