    Data Provisioning Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in New York, NY
    No Offer
    Negative Experience

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at EarthLink Telecommunications (New York, NY) in November 2016.

    Interview

I spoke with the recruiter which asked general questions, then emailed me back to schedule a phone interview with the Hiring manager. The morning of the phone interview i sent an email that i would need to reschedule due to an emergency. the following email i was asked why i had to cancel and without going into detail that my friend had just taken his own life. i responded that my friend had passed away and she would forward my explanation to the hiring manager to proceed with the interview reschedule. i get a response that they have decided to move forward with a candidate who better meets the requirements of this position. which i have over ten years experience. also in the reply suddenly the position changed states to Alabama, which is not the state i applied in.

I have lots of ex-coworkers that used to work for earth link that tried to warn me off from going to earth link and to only go there as a last resort, due to the poor work conditions/ environment. also with such poor reviews posted from former and current employees.

I was not heart broken about not getting the position due to the bad press.

moral of this story is don't try to reschedule an interview with earth link, even if a sudden and tragic event occurs.

    Best to avoid this company
