Eastman’s innovative digital Core service platform has earned the company a spot on the list of 2023 CIO 100 award winners. For more than 30 years, the CIO 100 Awards from CIO magazine have recognized innovative organizations around the world that exemplify the highest level of strategic and operational excellence in information technology. “I’m so proud of how our teams are redefining what digital means in our industry,” said Aldo Noseda, Eastman vice president and chief information officer. “Externally, digital services like Core set us apart from our competitors. Internally, they are inspiring teams to think about new ways Eastman can grow in the digital space. Receiving this CIO 100 award is both humbling and rewarding.”

Skydrol, a fire-resistant, phosphate ester-based fluid, was created in 1948 and was an aviation breakthrough. It has been used in flights worldwide since then to prevent hydraulic fires and enhance passenger safety. New formulations in the following decades have helped meet the industry’s evolving needs and made the Skydrol name synonymous with aviation hydraulic fluid itself. “Skydrol was developed at a critical moment in the evolution of the industry and helped transform aviation into what it is today,” said Logan Hanner, Eastman segment market manager for aviation. “Generations of aircraft have flown using the product. The name Skydrol is now synonymous with hydraulic fluid as a result of its safety and performance record.” Eastman acquired the brand in 2012 and maintains the product’s industry-leading quality. Since its inception, Skydrol has helped aviators avoid problems due to its fire-resistant properties and durability. Improvements over the years have enabled the product to meet the evolving safety and logistical needs of aviation.
