Since the owner and founder is a Carolina native, his personal knowledge of the region has aided in the successful expansion of Eastwood Homes. Each of the 6 divisions of Eastwood Homes has a slightly different appeal, despite their relatively close proximity to the headquarters in Charlotte. It is only natural that Eastwood Homes are built with local lifestyles in mind. The founder of Eastwood Homes, Joe Stewart, was born and raised in the Carolinas. He attended Appalachian State University on a football scholarship, and then served his country as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army.
After completing his education and serving his country, Joe returned to his hometown and taught at a local college. But Joe had dreams of doing something much bigger. In 1977, those dreams led to the creation of Eastwood Homes. Joe’s goal was to build high-quality, yet affordable homes. He wanted to not only give customers the most home for their money, but also the most pleasant buying experience possible. And unlike national builders, he was determined to not be driven by Wall-Street profits, but by providing excellence in his homes and communities.
Forty years and more than 15,000 happy homeowners later, Joe Stewart is still involved in the operations of the company. His son Clark joined Eastwood Homes full time in 2006 after completing graduate school, and spending every summer working in the business beginning at the age of 11. Together, Joe and Clark carry on the family legacy as a Homebuilder of Integrity.
The Stewarts take great pride in the company that they have developed. They walk through the homes under construction in each community on a regular basis. I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Eastwood Homes (Charlotte, NC) in February 2016.
Initial phone screen done by the VP of Sales, then invited in for an in-person interview. Got the offer within 2 weeks after. A lot of personality based questions and questions about my background and experience. Was a very pleasant experience and would recommend this company to anyone trying to break into new home sales. Very relaxed atmosphere.
