Technical Account Manager

Being a woman in tech, I only recently started advocating for myself at work about advancement opportunities. Because of this I wanted to ask this question to my male counterparts. When you have 1:1's with your direct reports and talk about career growth / aspirations what is your managers’ response typically? I’d like to gauge how my experience (negative) differs from others. For instance are you met with blockades, enthusiasm, dread, etc?

    Pros

    - Really excellent benefits including remote work - Super kind coworkers, especially on the tech team - Work-life balance was incredible - My manager was excellent, and was mostly hands-off, allowing me to get my work done

    Cons

    - We hit a rough patch and had multiple rounds of layoffs (both rounds seemingly came out of nowhere) in 2022. My job security never felt especially stable after those layoffs. - There was very little room for growth in my role, and the work slowed down/became pretty monotonous

I applied online. I interviewed at EatStreet (United States)

      Interview

Fairly quick and organized interview process. They keep candidates in the loop on their status in the process, which doesn’t sound like much of an ask, but not every company does this anymore.
      Interview

They asked a lot of behavioral based interview questions.
