Elevations Credit Union – Why Work With Us?

If you love where you live, it matters where you bank.

Elevations Credit Union is a member-owned not-for-profit financial institution serving Colorado’s Front Range.

Founded in 1953 as the U of C Federal Credit Union in Boulder, we’ve grown from 12 members and less than $100 in assets to an institution with more than 130,000 members that manages over $2 billion in assets and is the No. 1 credit union mortgage lender in Colorado. Our field of membership includes Adams, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Jefferson, Larimer and Weld Counties.

As we’ve grown over the last 60 years, our spirit of cooperation has developed into a culture of belonging. This sense of belonging is evident in the way we participate in the global credit union movement and take a leadership role in our communities. The Elevations Foundation, our charitable arm, provides scholarships for higher education, community grants for local non-profits and resources to the community in times of disaster and need.

At Elevations, we’ve made a commitment to move away from a product-centered business model and focus instead on creating consumer solutions. Our objective is to provide our members, as well as the entire community, with unbiased consumer information. In addition to one-on-one consultation, we host dozens of free adult financial seminars on a wide range of subjects and we reach thousands of K-12 students through our financial literacy programs in the schools each year.

We have 13 branch locations along with a nationwide network of CO-OP ATMs and shared branches. Our mobile and online bankingallow members to stay close to their money no matter where they live or where they're traveling.

We’re a leader in the communities we serve and an employer that over 400 people are proud to work for. In 2014, we were honored to be the first credit union to receive the only presidential honor for performance excellence—the prestigious Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. In 2015 and 2016, we were named one of the Best Companies to Work For in Colorado by the Colorado Society for Human Resource Management. Readers of local newspapers name us “Best Bank/Financial Institution,” “Best Mortgage Lender” and “Best Customer Service” year after year.

As you can see, our culture is pretty special! Our framework is supported by our Core Values, which each employee lives and breathes every day at work. Check them out. Do they align with your values?

Integrity - We build trust through honest and ethical actions
Respect - We treat each other with dignity and value individual differences
Passion - We are enthusiastic in everything we do
Creativity - We foster an environment of innovations and learning
Excellence - We always seek to improve and strive to exceed expectations

From a culture that values career development, work-life balance and the communities we serve – just to name a few – Elevations will be the best place you’ve ever worked!

Culture of Excellence

We set a goal to win the Malcolm Baldrige Award, and we did it! In 2015 we humbly accepted the award for demonstrating performance excellence in our industry. Our team of high performers accomplished this together and is excited for the next challenge ahead!

Recognition

We believe hard work should be rewarded! Elevations strives to create a culture of recognition that lives within our organization on a daily basis. This belief system is contagious and serves to highlight the excellence that exists in every area and all job functions. Appreciation is embedded in everything we do – our employees live and breathe it.

Development

We are big on development! If you want to develop in your role or strive to grow within the company, we’ll support you. Through extensive internal training offerings, quarterly career coaching with your manager, access to a development library, job shadowing opportunities, and more! You take ownership of your personal development and we support it.

Financial Well Being

Your financial well-being is important to us. We take care of this by offering competitive pay, generous 401K matching, financial literacy training, mortgage & auto discounts, and more!

Health and Wellness

We promote health and wellness by offering benefits, discounts and programs such as: biometrics screening, health fairs, flu shots, gym discounts, corporate gardening, race entry discounts and more!

Community

Our Community’s well-being is also near and dear to our hearts. For that reason, we offer 16 hours of Volunteer Time Off per year to full time employees.

Work-Life Balance

As a full-time employee at Elevations, you get 4 weeks paid time off per year plus 11 paid holidays to spend outside of work doing what you love.

Added Rewards

Whether it’s Elevations discretionary bonus programs, cross-department recognition opportunities, celebrations such as winter parties or company-wide Rockies games, and anniversary breakfasts, we make it a priority to reward our staff for their hard work.

I have been working at Elevations Credit Union full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Company Events. Localism. People. Non-Profit.

    Cons

Non-For-Profit but CEO gets $1MM+ annually. HR screwed me over- That's the only reason I left. I'd go back.

    Advice to Management

    Less top-down approach.

    Application

I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at Elevations Credit Union (Broomfield, CO) in April 2019.

    Interview

After having a quick phone interview, I was contacted the same day to have an in-person interview. The in-person wasn't as long as I would have liked it, but they were extremely nice and to-the-point. The hiring manager was amazingly easy to talk to. I went through the whole process in about a week's time.
