I have been working at Elk River Treatment Program full-time (More than 3 years)
The Teamwork aspect of Elk River is not just lip-service. Medical, Therapeutic, and Academic staff work in tandem with management to trouble-shoot and problem-solve resident and program needs. All avenues are exhausted in order to assist residents in reaching their goals and progressing toward their success. The school ensures that residents do not get left behind in their academics while they work toward bettering themselves and their family relationships. The holistic nature of the therapy involves all stakeholders in order to create a supportive network for residents and their families
If you enjoy seeing others begin their life journey with a fresh outlook and tools that can help them long-term then there are no "cons" to this work. It is very difficult and very worth it.
Advice to Management
Keep striving in continuing to do what is best for residents and families.
Elk River Treatment Program is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year by recognizing "A Decade of Difference" made in the lives of almost 1,000 adolescents and their families. The program is accredited by The Joint Commission & AdvancED/SACS.
