Mission: Emergent's mission is simple - to protect and enhance life.
I have been working at Emergent BioSolutions full-time (More than 5 years)
I get tired of all the negative employees. Some employees seem to make it their mission in life to criticize management and the decisions they make. The industry we work in is very challenging, and as a longer term employee of the company I think people should be more appreciative of what we have and more satisfied with what we have accomplished. I also think certain members of senior leadership have always tried their best to drive good change and lead the company effectively. For example, the guy that runs all of manufacturing operations at the company is routinely engaging with employees and taking personal time to show people how great we can be if we just stay positive and, to use his words, “own our challenges and be the change we want to see in the company.” He’s not the only one either. He’s just the most outspoken in his efforts to lead.
we are busy and the work load can be stressful at times. I'm not sure why this surprises anyone as we fight to become a bigger and better company
Advice to Management
stay the course and hold employees accountable for their negativity. Quickly weed out and replace senior leaders who don't "role model" the right leadership behavior as they are undermining the overall effort
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Emergent BioSolutions.
I was interviewed by 10 people in the same day in groups of from 1-3 individuals. I remained in the same room and they showed up in half-hour intervals. However, once I worked there I was aware of similar level interviewees who were interviewed by more than a dozen people, which seemed excessive.
