Below are even more reasons to consider becoming part of the Endeavor family.
Endeavor Energy Resources, LP (“Endeavor”) is a private exploration and production company with a highly strategic and desired asset base in the Permian Basin. Today, Endeavor holds 529,000 net acres, of which over 300,000 acres are in the prolific Midland Basin. This largely unparalleled asset began with 80 acres and modest ambitions by Autry C. Stephens, Endeavor’s founder and General Partner.
In 1979 Autry C. Stephens decided to forge his own path in the oil business, leaving a stable job as a reservoir engineer at a local community bank behind. Initially performing consulting engineering work to put food on the table, under a newly formed sole proprietorship as Autry C. Stephens, the startup company began. With eagerness and a one room office, Mr. Stephens researched courthouse titles and started taking leases. The first purchase of 80 net acres led the way for the company’s first well, the McClintic B-30 #2, in the Spraberry Field of Midland County in 1979. Financed without any partners, the outcome of this well was a risk, but one that paid off. The success of the McClintic B-30 #2 set the trajectory forward for Stephens’ new venture, and continues to be producing to this day. One part time employee turned into a full time employee, who spent the next 30 years with Mr. Stephens as the company expanded. And the first one room office Stephens leased is now part of the building that he owns.
The company’s growth surpassed most expectations. In 2000 the sole proprietorship was reorganized as Endeavor Energy Resources, LP. A pivotal transaction for Endeavor was the purchase of Perenco Energy in 2005, later renaming the acquisition LCX Energy, LLC. In one transaction the company increased its daily production by 30% and bolted on acreage to its Midland Basin position.
The one constant over Endeavor’s history is its steady growth in an unstable industry. Over the years, Autry Stephens continued focus on acquisitions led to the purchase and integration of multiple service companies. The Endeavor Energy Services group is a valuable collection of companies that provide steady access to services and stable pricing for the Endeavor Exploration and Production Company.
Autry C. Stephens marked a new era of growth and leadership as he named Charles Meloy as Chief Executive Officer in 2016. Mr. Meloy is refocusing the company from a predominately vertical operator to a horizontal operator. By the end of 2016 Endeavor doubled its horizontal well count while lowering LOE cost. Endeavor’s horizontal program is focused on the development of Midland Basin assets by incorporating newly proven drilling and completion techniques. This strategy requires a systematic approach that relies on the proven strength and capability of Endeavor’s employees and management. The storied growth of Endeavor will continue forward as the company has only begun to develop its resource base. The current horizontal well count is less than 2% of Endeavor’s proved Midland Basin Horizontal inventory. Endeavor is proudly based in Midland, Texas and currently employs 1,300 valued associates as one of the largest private employers in the Permian Basin.

Advice to Management
Keep up the good work and continue to put your people first.
I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Endeavor Energy Resources.
On campus interview with engineers. Behavioral questions asking about different situations and challenges. Not much discussion on resume outside of referencing it in these questions. Ended with a few technical questions.
