Enterprise – Why Work For Us?

At Enterprise Rent-A-Car, we began our story in the neighborhoods we serve.

Operated by Enterprise Holdings, we’re a family-owned, privately held company belonging to a world-class portfolio of brands that includes Alamo Rent A Car and National Car Rental. Since we opened our doors 60 years ago, our singular focus has been supporting each other, so we can best serve our customers and grow our brands. Today, we’re known for our extraordinary level of customer service at our more than 7,600 global Enterprise Rent-A-Car neighborhood and airport locations. This is where it all starts. Ready to GO?

Enterprise Rent-A-Car is part of a global network that spans more than 85 countries.

Some 97,000 dedicated team members sharing common values. And more than 1.9 million vehicles taking our customers wherever they need to go. And with the constant evolution of our industry, we continue to grow our business – and add to our variety of career opportunities.

Our people are the reason for our success. By living out our values each day and providing exceptional customer service, we’ve built a strong culture – one in which we bring honesty and integrity to all we do.

Community & Sustainability

We also value giving back to the communities we serve. You’ll see it through company support -- such as our pledge to donate $60 million to fight hunger -- and in how we encourage each of our employees to make a positive impact in the neighborhoods where we do business. We’re committed to the sustainability of our world through initiatives such as the Enterprise 50 Million Tree Pledge, our 20/20 Vision and partnerships to explore alternatives to petroleum-based fuels.

As an Enterprise Management Trainee, your development will be hands-on.

From day one, you’ll be given real responsibility – and be expected to own it. You’ll take care of customers, connect with your community and live our values. And you’ll learn what it takes to manage a multimillion-dollar business. That’s just the beginning of how we can take your career further.

As a Management Trainee, the skills and experience you gain will be the foundation of your career. We have the training and support you need at every step of the way.

We’ll start you out close to home at one of our neighborhood locations. You’ll build relationships with coworkers, customers and mentors. You’ll learn everything from how to exceed our customers’ expectations, to the principles of accounting. You’ll also help grow the business by building relationships with local businesses, as well as learn how to manage a team of people and a fleet of hundreds of vehicles.

As a Management Trainee, the more you put into the program, the more you’ll get out of it. We promote from within, based on performance. Not seniority. See our promote-from-within philosophy in action.

As a Management Trainee, you are the future of Enterprise. Ready to GO?

This is a great place to kick-start your career.

For more than a decade, Enterprise Rent-A-Car has been recognized as one of the largest recruiters of college graduates in the US. We’re a proven training ground – with amazing ground-floor opportunities that have corner office potential. From day one, you'll learn our business, and make decisions that have an impact. This is your chance to make a difference from the word GO.

As an intern, you’ll gain the real-world experience you need to stand out from the crowd. Learn more about our internship opportunities.

From the very beginning, military service members have played a tremendous role in our history and culture. It started when our company’s founder, Jack Taylor, answered the call to serve his country in World War II as a naval fighter pilot. Today, military veterans and members of the guard and reserves comprise nearly 13 percent of Enterprise Holdings’ total US workforce. We’re proud to pay the salary differential for employees on active duty, so that they continue to receive full pay throughout the duration of their service. And we’re committed to supporting service members and their families at every step of their career with us.

At Enterprise, you’ll work with people who’ve walked in your shoes and respect where you’ve been. We offer the tools and resources necessary to help make your transition to a new career easier. In the military you trained and gained experience on how to successfully take on new challenges. These are the skills that can only make us a better company.

I have been with Enterprise Holdings for 7+ years now. I can't say enough about how great of a company Enterprise is to be a part of. I am currently an Area Manager and just like everybody else in the company started my career as a Management Trainee. The MT program is an all inclusive program that gives you the tools needed every step of the way to learn the business. The company truly promotes on success. The company truly has an employees first mindset. Our mission statement states that if we take care of our employees and customers then profits will follow and we see that with every action throughout my career. Once you become a manager you have a fantastic ability to increase your own paycheck by being successful. I recently was able to achieve a promotion where the company paid on their own expense to move me and my family across the country.

The most common complaints we hear initially are the long work weeks. It is a change to be on a 49 hour work week from day 1 but with everything you do throughout the day a 49 hour week goes much quicker than a 40 hour work week at most other jobs. You truly get out what you put in!

    Advice to Management

Your ability to build your pay plan and truly make an impact in customers and employees as you move up through the company is an amazing opportunity!

    Management Trainee Interview

    Anonymous Employee

    Positive Experience

I applied through college or university. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Enterprise.

Brief phone screen followed by two in person interviews. The second is make or break the third is more of a formality. It seemed as though the recruiter was focused more on how you can hold a conversation. The position is based very heavily in sales in customer service so interpersonal skills are a must which would explain the structure of the interview. Expect several behavioral and situation based questions.
