I worked at Epir Technologies as an intern
The people were all really awesome to work with. Anyone helped you if you had a question, or wanted to learn about what they were working on. They provided free lunch every Friday!
Very small company, as an intern it could be very boring.
I applied online. I interviewed at Epir Technologies (Bolingbrook, IL).
Phone interview followed by in-person interview with all expenses paid by the company.
One of the people I interviewed with really sullied the experience for me.
- They explicitly told me they didn't want to take me on a tour of the facility (as was scheduled) because I wasn't a customer and therefore they said they wouldn't care to answer my questions. Instead they had a support staff take me on the tour and give me a presentation on the company. That person was great, but not able to answer technical questions.
- They gave a weird sexist rant about how in the past they've had to be "Dr. Phil" to female employees and how they doesn't like complainers.
- After I met the CEO this person basically told me I asked the CEO the 'wrong' question.
...and so much more.
It was a shame because everyone else I spoke with seemed very normal and kind!
After the interview EPIR ghosted on me. I was given a peek into a really toxic workplace and I'm happy to run in the opposite direction!
