    I worked at Escents part-time

The only benefit of working here was the discounts.

This has been by far the worst company I have ever had the displeasure of working for. Cheques came late consistently. Cheques bounced. The company went from sending cheques to direct deposit then to e-transfer due to so called "problems with the bank".

Throughout my employment I received maybe 2 pay stubs. They stopped submitting pay stubs because of "incorrect amounts that needed to be amended". At one point, ALL of the information on my pay stub was incorrect. My only record of my income from this company is my bank records and deposit info. I have NO paperwork from the company aside from a couple completely botched half-assed pay stubs that were whipped up in a word document.

The store I was working at was closed with NO notice, and we all lost our jobs. The entire store was seized and we were responsible for waiting around on the last couple days of our employment for the store to be permanently closed.

WORST OF ALL, they have sent myself and other former employees of the store INCORRECT T4S that they REFUSE to amend. Some of the employees still have yet to receive even an initial t4. My t4 was incorrect and I had been in contact with head office NUMEROUS times to have an amended copy sent. It took months for them to even respond to me and when they did they called me by an incorrect name. Once I received the amended t4 in an email they had told me they submitted it to the CRA.

You won't be surprised to hear that it had not been submitted to the CRA and I had to undergo a LENGTHY process of reporting the company and submitting the amended t4 MANUALLY. Months later and they have finally submitted the amended t4 to the cra... BUT IT IS INCORRECT AGAIN. On top of that, they have submitted it as an ORIGINAL, not an amended copy. So the CRA is at a total loss as far as what to do.

I am absolutely livid and I regret ever having faith in this company.

    Cut your losses.

I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Escents (Burnaby, BC (Canada)) in May 2014.

You have the qualifications and experience of people we want to employ and have work for us. And you want to work for us, great. They have extremely high turnover of staff both at head office and at retail level. There will never be improvement as long as Jacqui MacNeill remains in charge.
