I worked at Ethan Allen full-time (More than 3 years)
Quality product, beautiful showroom, nice people, creative field, love of textiles, woods, creating beautiful environments
Filling in at reception desk which cut into design or sales time, helping in warehouse when no one was there to assist, benefits gradually reduced, flaky customers who wanted to use designers for free design help but purchased nothing, working every weekend and most holidays
Advice to Management
Value your staff with good benefits and pay. Have management or office staff cover phones and warehouse - not designers/salespeople. Have more & better bonuses.
Fun but long like so many other hiring processes. I wouldn't go through it again unless I was sure the job was really interesting. They ask for too much information in this form on the survey.
