Mission: Smart Leaders Conquering Complex Challenges with a Human-Centered Approach.
I have been working at Evans Incorporated full-time (More than a year)
Evans is by far the best place I've ever worked and the best company I know of. From day one (and even while interviewing) you're welcomed into the family. Our office is open, full of laughter, and sees lots of spontaneous collaboration. Most of us work at FAA a few days a week and connect with each other there as well. For the first time in my career I've been able to grow how I want to and do the kind of work I'm both good at and passionate about. Management truly invests in me and supports me. Rather than experiencing growing pains as the company doubled in size in a few years, we've defined our culture and taken concrete steps to preserve it--so each new hire adds something else wonderful. We have a clear vision that everyone buys into and a growth strategy I support (and contribute to). Evans strikes that difficult balance between hard work that supports corporate health and flexibility for employees--most of us are parents and know the company and our clients support us taking family and personal time.
Nothing to note, because Evans is always improving. Every challenge I've seen the company facing someone was comfortable raising, and it was addressed--from unclear career paths to occasionally mundane work. What other company is so responsive!
Advice to Management
Continue making time for people and sharing information honestly as we grow, which you've done even better with each year I've been here.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took a week. I interviewed at Evans Incorporated (Falls Church, VA) in January 2015.
Multi-phase (3 days): Before interview had a phone screen; 1st interview was with 4 employees in groups of 2; 2nd interview was with account lead; 3rd interview was with CEO
You may have heard the news already, but we were awarded "Program of the Year" in the 2018 Greater Washington Government Contractor of the Year awards!
We are so excited and honored about the recognition for Propel UAS, an Evans Incorporated division, and their collaborative efforts with Loudoun County Sheriff's Office's "Project Lifesaver" program. This program uses drones to locate missing persons with medical conditions such as Alzheimer's or Autism who have wandered away from home.
As if being named as a finalist for the 2018 GovCon Awards isn't exciting enough, it led us to being featured in WashingtonExec!
Our founder Sue Evans spoke with WashingtonExec about our "work with Project Lifesaver, [our] exponential growth in recent years, and why [we] are optimistic about being recognized at this year’s GovCon Awards."
Read the whole interview below, and stay tuned for the final awards announced by Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce and the Professional Services Council on Monday, November 5th!
